Effect of Packing Material Composition on the Aerodynamic Processes in a Wavy Lamellar Plate-Type Biofilter

Reducing the pressure drop in biofilters is important for reduction of energy consumption these devices. Usually, increases with time due to biomass growth within packing material. The aim this study was evaluate aerodynamic processes a laboratory-scale wavy lamellar (WL) plate-type biofilter equipped capillary system humidifying material designed consisted polymer plates (WPP) vertically arranged next each other. pattern arrangement allowed sufficiently large spaces, and therefore, use such structure had an impact on decrease biofilter. WPP were coated three different kinds materials, namely (I) wood fiber (WF), (II) non-woven caulking (NWCM) WF, (III) linen (LM) WF. results showed that composition influenced material, which covered lowest compared other two compositions. In study, experimental also performed mathematical modeling airflow movement.
